At Dumont and Blake, he led the investment research that produced market-beating returns for a diversified group of private clients. Prior to that, he transformed the investment results at HSBC Investments, where he was responsible for the direct management of over $3 billion in equities and overseeing a team of 15 analysts, portfolio managers, and traders. In his first year as Chief Investment Officer, he moved the majority of the investment products into the first quartile, reversing an extended period of sub-par performance. Before joining HSBC he co-managed small and mid-cap mutual funds with Merrill Lynch, with one fund winning a Lipper #1 award in 1995. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Tom spent many years managing portfolios for high-net worth individuals and smaller institutions.
